But how green are we? - We ask an engineering student to check us out...
London, 30th October 2007
Dataserv® has offered Max Fieguth, from Imperial College, the opportunity to investigate and report on Dataserv’s energy consumption and to offer cost effective solutions to reduce or recycle our usage.
Managing Director, Neal Saunders and the other directors are very pleased that Max, a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student, has decided to take up the challenge!
Initially Max will be looking through invoices for energy usage throughout the company, this will include heat, light, water, vehicles etc., After this he will be devising some questionnaires for every member of staff which, for example, will be in relation to journeys to work and use of personal vehicles during the working day. In addition to our internal usage of power, Max will be looking at our up and downstream suppliers. Most particularly the road hauliers.
Once Max has completed his research at our offices and plants, he will continue his investigations from University. Max’s timetable is quite tight – by November he will have a broad outline of his project completed and the entire activity completed by May.
Max’s previous projects include; ‘Recycling of Plastic Waste’ and ‘Very light Battery Powered Electric Vehicles for Urban Transportation’.
